Yet another X-Men: First Class rave review
I was actually thinking of going and seeing X-Men: First Class today, but that's not going to work out. I continue to be amazed at how much the critics love it, as in this review at Badass Reviews. Surely it can't be that good. Well, I'm hoping it is. Anyone seen it yet?

Not yet but I'm seeing it tonight. Can't wait.
I saw it last night; it's definitely my favourite X-Men movie. The set pieces are inventive, the characterisation highly believable, and the plot does its job.
And Fassbender is a total bad-ass (even if he occasionally slips into his native Irish accent).
The negative reviews I've seen are often of the 'I don't really like this sort of genre' variety.
Just came back from seeing it. It's pretty good. Bad movie science made me cringe every once in a while, but the characters were interesting. I especially liked that it managed to avoid the "oops, I guess I'm evil now"-moment when the good guy turns bad that so many other movies suffer from. Also, for a prequel, it doesn't suffer much from either being too predictable, or having to fix everything in the last 5 minutes.
So yes, go see it. Unless you don't like the genre at all, of course.
