About Me
- Russell Blackford
- I am an Australian philosopher, literary critic, and professional writer. My new book, from Wiley-Blackwell, is FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND THE SECULAR STATE. I'm editor-in-chief of The Journal of Evolution and Technology, an on-line, peer-reviewed journal. I am a Conjoint Lecturer in the School of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Newcastle, NSW. My formal qualifications include First Class Honours degrees in Arts and Law, and separate Ph.Ds in English literature and philosophy. The latter may seem extravagant, but I have my reasons! Let's talk about comic books. I just got the first volumes of Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man today, and am loving them. Not much motivation to read the current issues "main continuity" versions of these, though. Maybe I'll pick up the early Spider Man comics, and the Claremont version of X-Men, eventually.
