Indoctrination in guilt and shame

This is a good reason to be against "nice" "moderate" kinds of Christianity such as Roman Catholicism - well, Roman Catholicism in particular. Go and read Miranda Celeste Hale's piece, "A dirty little girl, her head hanging in shame." I don't have a lot to add to it, except to say that this is how the Cult of Misery works in action; this is how it turns the ordinary behaviour of good people into the production of guilt and shame. This is one reason why it's worth our opposition.
