Even more religious idiocy

What can you even say about crap like this? As an (atheistic) Anglican still in good official standing until they catch up with me, I suppose I could say it's "our" gain to be rid of these bigots. But still ...

The Anglican Church has already "ringfenced" its African congregation who believe in witchcraft, polygamy etc etc.

The 0th commandment: Thou shalt accommodate whatever hypocrisy is necessary to appease thy God. This shall take precedence over whatever else follows.

This is how other non xtian rituals got subsumed by the catholic church, one only need to consider the fact that easter follows the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox and xmas is suspiciously close to the winter solstice to figure out that these rituals are imported into xtianity from a pre-technological agrarian societies.

In a similar fashion the tree of life from Genesis became an apple tree about the time that xtianity first bumped into Celtic/Druidic culture.

It's a time honoured tradition observed by all expanding missionary religions and this is a great opportunity to see it in action.

Interesting to follow Jessica's link to this potted summary of the Gnu Atheists' library.

If only the Catholic church could apply their new-found flexibility to abortion, birth control, observing the law, etc etc...
