While we're on the subject, what about this image? It certainly has something to do with sex. So, would you classify it as a sexual image or not? Should images like this be prohibited from public display because they are regarded as "harassing"? It's certainly foreseeable that a lot of people would be offended by it, but is it offence of a kind that should affect policy?

ReplyDeleteThe topic is about sex, so yes, it's a sexual image. That being said, it's obvious to me that it's not meant to stimulate desire or titillate anyone's fancy. It will do so for some people, but that's not the intention.
ReplyDeleteBut you asked whether people could be offended. I'm to the point in my life in which I'm tired of caring. I've seen enough groups broken up or fall into uselessness because everyone's feeling of being offended had to be taken into account.
That only matters when the big is trying to control the small. The smaller an institution or organization is, the less it has to worry about giving offense to someone.
