Later on, The Vision - Wanda's android husband, who has recently been put back together from destruction via some help from Iron Man plus his self-repair mechanisms then kicking in - is not too happy with his wife for destroying him (some years back in our time, but not so long ago in his). He boots her out of his artificial life, and out of any opportunity, for the moment, of rejoining the Avengers. A bit complicated, with all the convoluted, soap-opera-y back story that has to be conveyed, but fun enough in a kind of emo way.
I guess next time I can report in on what happens in Avengers vs X-men #1.
Despite my better instincts, I picked up AvX0. Bendis's Wanda story was great. After reading the Hope story, though, I thought, "Wow, who was responsible for that crap?" and was surprised to find it was Jason Aaron. Maybe I need to re-read his Incredible Hulk issues to see what everyone else was slagging him about.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't like the Hope story either. Not least because it turned the Serpent Society into jobbers. I hate it when they do that, ruining perfectly good characters just to build up another character as badass. Now, if Hope had outwitted them in some way I'd have been fine with it.
ReplyDeleteIf you liked Bendis's Wanda story, you'd probably like Avengers 24.1, which leads up to it. Although I didn't much like the art.
You are not the only person to have taken issue with 24.1's art. I'll pick it up along with AvX1 this week, though. The only artists in Marvel I'm actively avoiding are Humberto Ramos and Greg Land.
