Greta Christina and Stephanie Zvan on boobquake

A couple of nice, nuanced but clear posts by female people. 'Nuff said.

Edit: I've fixed the link so it takes you to page 1, not page 2, of Greta Christina's post. Sorry for any confusion.

"The main feminist objection to Boobquake seemed to be... that many men reacted to the event with sexist, "Show us your tits!" idiocy—a reaction McCreight should have foreseen, and was therefore responsible for. (...) Women ought not to display our sexuality—because men can't be trusted. (...) How, exactly, is this "feminist" response to Boobquake anything but a more moderate version of the statement by the Muslim prayer leader?"

Yes. This.

Thank you, Greta Christina, for clear-thinking in the face of muddle-headed-as-usual-humanity!

We-I-feel included-failed. The act became the boobs rather than the quake(s).

Hoy atheist2: should trademark "lamb power" it is already being used in Patagonia to promote lam meat.

I wonder if atheist2 and DM are randomly generated....

from accounts I've seen, it was a quiet day in all things seismic. May I postulate that this is because Mother Nature appreciated the effort and joined in?
Does this extrapolate to the potential value of a bush day?

A bush day? Pffffffff - that's for puritans and pseudo-feminists. Make it a split beaver day! Make it a spread your legs and show us the whole thing day. Make it who the hell do you think you are to be wearing jeans and a sweatshirt day. Make it a phwooooooarrr day.

Ophelia! I will support any proposal that pokes a stick at the nut-jobs out there but your proposal causes me to suck my teeth with trepidation. Unfortunately too many of us Y chromosome carriers lack enough above-waist intellect to deal with such profound actions.
Unless my 'bush' analogy offended you? It was meant to be supportive of mother nature and her obvious wisdom.
I don't much like phwooooooarrr to be honest.

I am over weight, I ran along an oval today and my man boobs did the whole jig thing.

I experienced my own boobquake

But, to be honest with you. This is just a bit of a beat up to sell papers and media advertising -- we live in a world where the creation on anger and outrage is linked to media profits and product sales.

next will be shitquake -- people who use flush toilets are going to split the crust
